Suspect arrested after Supreme Court security officer killed in stabbing – The Jerusalem Post

Israel Police arrested a suspect in his thirties after a court security officer was killed in a stabbing in the
Har Homa neighborhood of Jerusalem on Wednesday.

Amos Sa’ar, a security officer in the Jerusalem District Court Guard, was identified as the victim in the incident.

Sa’ar was appointed as the security officer of the Supreme Court in 1995 and served in that role until today, according to The Judicial Authority.

The victim was found in a building in the neighborhood in serious condition and was transferred to Shaarei Tzedek Hospital in critical condition where he later died after attempts to save his life.

Police are investigating all possibilities at this time. The motivation of the
stabbing is currently undetermined. The Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court placed a gag order on all details of the investigation for the next 48 hours.
